Mr. Carroll began his flower career as a youngster selling flowers on the corner and in bars at Broad and Erie in Philadelphia.  After returning from military service in Korea he joined the Philadelphia Police Department and also worked in a flower shop in the subway concourse at Broad and Erie.

Marty and Peg Carroll opened Carroll’s Flowers in Juniata Park in the summer of 1964.  Mr. Carroll taught flower design for FTD, at Northeast Catholic High School and  also appeared on Channel 10’s Dialing for Dollars doing flower arranging.  He has been active in FTD, Teleflora and the Pennsylvania Retail Florists Association. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll ran the business until her death in July of 1986.  Their daughter, Peggy, joined Mr. Carroll full time in April of 1986 and they continue to be family owned and operated.

Carroll’s Flowers has been a fixture in Juniata Park for 55 years, providing flowers for every special event in their customers’ lives. Generations of loyal customers return again and again for prom flowers, weddings, births of children and funerals.  It is not unusual for Peggy to hear a bride say “Mr. Carroll did my parents wedding.
